SYRUP TEA CAKES 
1 1/2 c. syrup
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
2 eggs
Pinch of salt

In large bowl, sift full of flour. Make a hole in middle of flour. Mix well all ingredients. Pinch off small pieces and pat into a greased pan. Bake at 375 degrees until brown.
