CRANBERRY FRUIT NUT BREAD 
1 c. fresh or frozen cranberries, coarsely chopped
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tbsp. grated orange peel
2 c. all purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. orange juice
1 egg, well beaten

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare cranberry, nuts and orange peel; set aside. In a bowl mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut in shortening. Stir in orange juice, egg and orange peel. Mix until moist. Fold in cranberries and nuts. Spoon into prepared loaf pan. Bake for 60 minutes. Cool on rack for 15 minutes.
