QUICK VEGETABLE BEEF SOUP 
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 c. onion, chopped
4 c. beef broth
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
1 (7 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up
2/3 c. peeled potatoes, cubed
1/2 c. celery, sliced
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. dried marjoram
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 bay leaf

In a large Dutch oven or kettle cook beef and onion until beef is brown and onion is tender. Drain fat. Stir in beef broth, mixed vegetables, tomatoes, potato, celery, marjoram, oregano, salt, pepper and bay leaf. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover, simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Discard bay leaf. Makes 4 main dish servings.
