3/4 c. shortening, part butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt, optional

Cover and chill for 1 hour. Bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 9 minutes. LET COOL, THEN APPLY FROSTING.
