VINEGAR BISCUITS | |
4 c. flour 6 tsp. baking powder 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. Crisco 1 3/4 c. milk 1/4 c. vinegar 1 tsp. baking soda Mix flour, baking powder, and salt together well. Melt Crisco, cool slightly. Mix together milk, vinegar, and soda. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients. Beat 50 strokes. Pat out or roll to 1/2 to 3/4 inch thickness. Cut in small round shapes. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. We make this recipe for our Creamed Chicken and Biscuits church dinner each Fall. Can make the biscuits and freeze and they warm just like fresh. Makes 3 dozen each recipe. I cut them with top of a water glass. This recipe freezes really well. |
