DAFFODIL CAKE 
WHITE PART:

6 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tbsp. almond or vanilla extract
Pinch of salt

YELLOW PART:

6 egg yolks
1/2 c. sugar
Water
1/2 tsp. almond or vanilla extract
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder

For White Part: Pinch salt to 6 egg whites; beat until foamy. Add cream of tartar, beat until stiff. Add sugar slowly. Sift several times the flour and fold into batter. Add vanilla or almond flavoring.

Beat egg yolks in large bowl until thin and lemon colored. Slowly add 1/2 cup sugar and continue to beat and add 2 tablespoons cold water and vanilla. Sift the flour with baking powder and fold into batter.

Pour white part into ungreased tube pan, pour yellow part over that. Bake about 1 hour or longer in preheated 350 degree oven. Cool on rack.
