SEVEN LAYER SALAD 
1 sm. head lettuce, shredded
1/2-1 c. chopped bell pepper
1/2-1 c. chopped onion
1/2-1 c. chopped celery
1 (16 oz.) can drained English peas
1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
2 tbsp. sugar
2 1/2 c. grated cheese, fancy style
6 slices crisp bacon, crumbled

In a large glass rectangle dish, layer ingredients in the order listed, except cheese and bacon. After sprinkling sugar over mayonnaise layer, cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Before serving, add cheese layer and sprinkle with crumbled bacon. Serves 12.
