CHILI CON CARNE 
2 tbsp. meat drippings, or fat
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. green pepper, cut in strips
2 1/2 c. (No. 2) tomatoes, cut in pieces
2 1/2 c. (No. 2) red kidney beans, drained
Season with mixture of: 1 tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. pepper

Break up and brown meat in fat on top of range in casserole having a tight fitting cover. Add onion, green pepper, and season with mixture. Add tomatoes and drained kidney beans. Cover and simmer 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
