RUSSIAN ROCK COOKIES 
3/4 c. butter OR Crisco
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1/3 c. warm water with 1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. of flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. dates, chopped
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. nuts
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Sift flour and salt. Add to batter alternately with water and soda. Add cinnamon, nutmeg, nuts, raisins and dates. Mix well. Drop batter from spoon on greased cookie sheet (about the size of a walnut). Bake at 375 degrees.
