SNICKERDOODLES 
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and mix well. Add sifted dry ingredients. Chill dough slightly, roll into balls and coat with mixture of cinnamon and sugar. (I mix about 2 tablespoons cinnamon to 1/2 cup sugar in a bowl and drop my balls of dough in this and coat.) Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400 degrees or until slightly grown.
