SNICKERDOODLES 
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

TOPPING:

2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and blend well. Add remaining ingredients, except topping. Form into small balls using about 1 tablespoon. Flatten slightly, dip into topping. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Bake cookies for 8 to 10 minutes. Do no overbake.
