POT ROAST 
4 lb. pot roast, boneless
2 onions
2 cloves garlic
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. white wine
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. wine vinegar
1/4 lb. bacon or salt pork, cubed
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
3 bay leaves
10 whole allspice

Place all ingredients in a large baking dish or pan with a cover. Bake at 300 degrees for about 3 1/2 hours.
