1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. salad dressing
1 c. warm water
2 c. cake flour
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine sugar and salad dressing; blend. Add vanilla to sugar mixture. Sift flour and cocoa; sift again and add to first mixture all at once. Mix well.

Put baking soda in warm water and stir. Pour all at once into flour mixture; stir well. It will foam and rise. When well blended, pour into greased and floured pans. Makes 2 (8-inch) layers.
