BOSTON BROWN BREAD 
2 eggs
2 tbsp. shortening
2 tsp. molasses
1 c. raisins, soaked in 1 1/2 c. hot water
2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt

Combine all ingredients, grease 4 cans (size 303). Fill half full. Steam in 2 inches water in kettle on top of stove for 45 minutes. Remove cover and steam for 15 minutes more. Serve warm or cool.
