APPLE BARS 
2 c. sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 1/2 c. Crisco oil
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. diced apples
1 c. dates, cut up
1/2-3/4 c. chopped nuts

Mix together sugar and beaten eggs. Add coil and vanilla; mix well. Sift together next 5 ingredients and add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Add remaining ingredients. Pour into 10 x 15 inch pan and bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes or until done.

FROSTING:

1 c. brown sugar
4 tbsp. half & half
1 1/2-2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Heat sugar and half & half until sugar is dissolved, do not boil. Add powdered sugar and vanilla; mix well.
