CARAMEL CORN 
1 1/2 c. unpopped popcorn
2 c. brown sugar
2 sticks of butter
1/2 c. light Karo corn syrup
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Pop corn to make 1 1/2 gallons. Set aside. Combine brown sugar, butter, syrup in saucepan, cook until well blended. Add cream of tartar, baking soda and salt (this mixture becomes foamy and increases in volume). Pour hot mixture over popcorn. Stir well. Place in large roasting pan. Bake at 200 degrees for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes to keep popcorn separated. Let cool.
