CALIFORNIA PORK CHOPS 
4-6 pork chops
1 c. rice (regular)
1 onion, sliced thin (optional)
1/2 pkg. dry onion soup mix
2 1/2 c. water
2 beef bouillon cubes
2-4 tbsp. oil

1. Brown pork chops in skillet in 2-4 tablespoons of oil.

2. Meanwhile place rice in bottom of shallow casserole dish (2 quarts).

3. Slice onion over rice.

4. Pour dry onion soup mix over top.

5. Place browned pork chops on top of soup mix.

6. Pour 2 1/2 cups water in skillet with drippings.

7. Add 2 beef bouillon cubes to water in skillet.

8. When bouillon cubes dissolve, pour water over the rice/pork chop mixture. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
