FLAT APPLE PIE 
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg yolk
2 c. milk

GLAZE:

3/4 c. powdered sugar
Milk

Add enough milk to yolk to make 2/3 cup of liquid. Blend flour, butter, shortening and salt. Break egg and save whites. Add the 2/3 cup of milk to flour and blend. Divide dough into 1/2. Roll onto cookie sheet. Take 3-4 hands of dry crushed corn flakes and sprinkle over dough.

Slice 8-10 peeled apples over. Sprinkle with 1 cup sugar and dot with 1/2 cup butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Roll out second 1/2 of 1/2 of dough and place over.

Beat egg whites and 1 tablespoon of sugar until stiff. Brush over crust. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Pour glaze over pie.
