FLAT BREAD - NORWEGIAN | |
5 c. flour - white 1 c. lard 1 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. cold water Cut first three ingredients together until well mixed similar to pie crust. Add water all at once. Mix until it looks like a loaf of bread. You may need a little bit more flour, but very little. Roll into small balls and chill very well, preferably overnight. Be sure they are covered tightly. Roll out very thin. Use plain rolling pin first and then ribbed rolling pin. Use flour sparingly when rolling out. Bake on lefse grill. Lay single until cool. Should be so thin they break easily. Makes about 30. |
