LAZY DAISY OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. oats, uncooked
1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Pour water over oats, cover and let stand 20 minutes. Beat butter until creamy. Add sugars. Blend in vanilla and eggs. Stir in oat mixture. Sift flour, soda, salt and spices. Add to creamed mixture; blend well. Pour batter into greased and floured 9-inch square baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 55 minutes. Do not remove cake from pan.

FROSTING:

1/4 c. melted butter
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
3 tbsp. light cream
3/4 c. coconut

Mix melted butter, brown sugar, cream, nuts, and coconut. Spread over cake. Broil until bubbly.
