1/4 c. butter
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1 egg
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. yellow or devils food cake mix

Cream butter and cheese. Blend in egg and vanilla. Add cake mix 1/2 at a time. Mix well. Chill dough 1/2 hour. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Drop by scant teaspoonfuls on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, until delicately browned. Cool cookies before removing from baking sheet. Makes 6 to 8 dozen small cookies, 2 to 3 dozen large cookies.
