FRENCH ONION STEAK 
1 1/2 lbs. round steak
1/2 c. flour
Oil or fat for browning
1 env. dried onion soup mix
3 c. hot water
1 tsp. paprika
1 tbsp. dried parsley
1 tsp. seasoned pepper

Cut steak into serving pieces, trim off fat and pound flour into both sides of each piece. Brown pieces of meat in hot oil or fat in Dutch oven or large heavy kettle. Add onion soup mix (undiluted), hot water and seasonings. Cover and simmer slowly until fork tender, about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Yield: 4 to 5 servings.
