PRANGES BRAN MUFFINS 
6 c. 100% Bran cereal (Nabisco), divided
2 c. boiling water
3 c. sugar
1 c. oil
5 tsp. baking powder
4 eggs, beaten
1 qt. buttermilk
5 c. flour
2 tsp. salt

Pour boiling water over 2 cups cereal and let stand. Mix remaining cereal with the sugar, oil, eggs and buttermilk. Combine with the first mixture and set aside. Sift flour, salt and soda together and add to the bran mixture. Pour into muffin tins 1/2 to 2/3 full. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. This makes a very large batch. They freeze well.
