1 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream shortening and sugars together. Add the egg and beat well. Sift dry ingredients together and stir into the creamed mixture. Add nuts. Shape into rolls, wrap in wax paper and chill thoroughly. Slice and bake at 375 degree temperature for 5 to 7 minutes.
