2/3 c. cornmeal 1 c. all-purpose flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tbsp. fat 1 egg, beaten slightly 3/4 c. sweet milk 1 lb. wieners Deep fat for frying Combine first 5 ingredients, cut in fat to fine-crumb stage. Combine milk and egg and add to crumbly dry mixture, mixing well. Insert wooden skewers into wieners. Spread wieners with cornmeal mixture and fry until golden brown in deep fat preheated to 325 degrees. |
