SOUTHERN BISCUITS 
2 c. flour
4 tbsp. shortening
3/4 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda

Sift flour and all dry ingredients. Work shortening into flour. Add liquid to make dough soft. Roll out on slightly floured board to thickness of 1/2 inch. Cut with biscuit cutter; put in greased pan. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes.
