German chocolate cake mix 3/4 c. melted butter 2/3 c. evaporated milk 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels 1 (6 oz.) chocolate chips 1 c. peanuts or walnuts Combine cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and butter. Pat half of mixture into greased and floured 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Melt caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Pour on partially baked crust. Sprinkle on chocolate chips and nuts, then remaining batter. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. May be cut into smaller squares and used as bars or serve as cake. |
