CINNAMON BREAKFAST APPLES 
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
4 or 5 lg. cooking apples
2 tbsp. water
1/4 c. butter

Combine sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pare apples and chop into bite size bits. Put into a 4 cup measure, sprinkling with cinnamon sugar as you add apples, water and butter into a sauce pan. Cover and cook over low to medium heat, stirring once or twice, for 15 to 20 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve for breakfast with biscuits or grits and eggs. Makes 2 2/3 cups.
