DATE NUT BREAD 
1 c. chopped dates
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. butter
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Combine first 5 ingredients; let stand for 10 minutes. Beat eggs, sugar, flour, and salt together. Combine 2 mixtures. Place in greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes until bread tests done.
