BUTTER HORNS 
4 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 lb. butter

Crumble together as for pie dough. 2 pkgs. dry yeast 1/2 c. warm water 1 tsp. sugar

Put these ingredients together in small bowl. Set aside to dissolve, takes about 5 minutes.

Add mixture to flour and butter. Mix well by hand and let set overnight in refrigerator. Cover lightly.

NUT FILLING:

3 beaten egg whites
2 c. ground walnuts
1/2 c. sugar (honey can be substituted)
1 tsp. vanilla

Pinch off balls of dough the size of walnuts and roll in granulated sugar. Roll flat and then fill with 1/2 teaspoon filling and roll up jelly roll fashion. Shape like a half moon. Bake on cookie sheet about 20 minutes at 375 degrees or until golden brown.
