HUNTSVILLE BAR CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. butter flavoring
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
4 eggs

GLAZE:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. rum or
1 tsp. rum flavoring

Cream butter, sugar and shortening until smooth. Add eggs one at a time. Mix together dry ingredients in separate bowl. Add dry ingredients and milk to butter mixture beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Add flavorings. Pour into greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Let cool in pan. When cake is cool pierce with toothpick and drizzle glaze over cake.

GLAZE: Bring water to a boil and add sugar. Stir until sugar dissolves. Add rum or rum flavoring and drizzle over cake.
