PESTO 
3 c. basil leaves
3-4 cloves garlic
1/4 tsp. garlic
3/4 c. Parmesan cheese
1/4 c. walnuts or almonds or pignolias
1/2 c. fresh parsley, optional
1/4 c. butter, optional
Fresh ground pepper, optional

Puree everything in a food processor fitted with a steel blade until it becomes a uniform paste. Freezes well.
