BANANA NUT BREAD 
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. Robin Hood all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. mashed bananas (about 2 or 3)
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 c. chopped walnuts

Cream sugar, shortening and eggs until light. Spoon flour (not sifted) into dry measuring cup; level off and pour flour onto waxed paper. Add soda and salt together (not sifted). Stir to blend. Add blended dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with mashed bananas and lemon juice. Stir until all ingredients are moistened. Stir in nuts. Spread in well-greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

Bake at 350°F for 55 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from pan immediately. Cool on rack.
