TEA CAKES 
1 1/2 c sugar
1 c shortening or 1/2 c butter & 1/2 c shortening
3 eggs
2 3/4 to 3 c flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla

Cream together shortening, sugar and eggs until well blended. Add vanilla and mix well. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt, stirring until dough is formed. Chill at least 1 hour. Turn out onto lightly floured pastry sheet; roll about 1/4-inch thick. Cut into desired shapes. Sprinkle top with sugar.

Bake at 375°F for 8-10 min. Cool on wire racks.
