COMMANDER'S SALAD 
4 c. mixed salad greens
4 tbsp. crisp bacon, crumbled
4 tbsp. Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
1 c. homemade croutons

DRESSING:

1 1/2 c. salad oil
1 egg, at room temp.
1/3 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black peppercorns, freshly cracked
1/4 c. white vinegar
3 tbsp. green onions, minced

Wash and dry greens and tear into bite-sized pieces. In salad bowl combine greens, bacon, cheese, and croutons. Put 1/2 cup oil and remaining dressing ingredients in a blender. Cover and blend on low speed. Remove cover and gradually blend in remaining oil. Pour 8 tablespoons of dressing over salad, toss, and spoon onto individual plates. Garnish with diced hard-boiled egg if desired.
