KATO'S KAHLUA | |
2 quarts freshly brewed Espresso roast or French roast coffee (I grind my beans) 3 cups brown sugar 2 cups white sugar 1 oz. good instant coffee granules 3 oz. (6 tbsp.) pure vanilla 1 quart vodka (may substitute dark rum) 3 clean empty quart jars with screw on caps Take 2 quarts of strong freshly brewed Espresso or French roast coffee. Then add both sugars, stir until it is dissolved. Add instant coffee. You need to let it simmer on the stove for about 2 hours, stirring often. Remove from heat and let it cool completely. Very important! After it cools, add vanilla and vodka. Mix it up and pour into CLEAN containers. Note: Taste your mixture, you may want to add more vodka, or not. After years of making it though, I have found this to be the best amount. Submitted by: Kati Benelli |
