OATMEAL COOKIES 
2 sticks (1/2 lb.) butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour, plain
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. oatmeal
1 c. chopped pecans
2 pkg. chocolate chips (or)
1 c. raisins (or) 1 c. grated coconut

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients. Add vanilla, oats, nuts and chocolate (or raisins). Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake in 275 degree oven 12 to 15 minutes. Run spatula under each cookie and leave on tin until cool. Makes 3 dozen.
