OATMEAL - CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
2 sticks (1/2 lb.) butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. oatmeal
1 c. chopped pecans
12 oz. chocolate chips or 1 c. raisins

Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs and beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients. Add vanilla, oats, nuts and chocolate or raisins. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 275 degree oven for 12-15 minutes. Run spatula under each cookie and leave on tin until cool. Makes 3 dozen.
