BREAD - N - BUTTER PICKLES 
4 qts. sliced cucumbers
6 c. onion slices
1/3 c. pickling salt
5 c. sugar
3 c. vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. tumeric
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
2 tbsp. mustard seed

Combine cucumbers, onions, and salt; cover with cracked ice. Let stand 3 hours. Mix thoroughly. Drain, then combine remaining ingredients and heat to boiling. Fill jars 1/2 inch from top and seal. Let boil 5 minutes in hot water bath.
