1 c. melted butter
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. chopped dates
1 lb. chopped pecans

Separate eggs. Mix flour with dates. Add beaten egg yolks, sugar, melted butter, nuts and beaten egg whites. Bake about 2 hours at 250 degrees like you bake fruit cake.
