NEVER-FAIL DUMPLING 
2 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. milk
Meat stock or chicken broth

Sift flour with baking powder and salt; cut in shortening. Add milk to make a drop batter. Drop by spoonfuls into boiling stock. Simmer, covered tightly, for 10 minutes. Serve at once.
