RICE PUDDING 
1/2 c. rice
1/2 c. sugar (can use 1/4 c.)
4 c. milk
2 tbsp. butter

Put in buttered casserole dish. Bake at 300 degrees for 2 1/2 - 3 hours uncovered. Stir once with fork when half done, being careful not to disturb crust on top.

TO MICROWAVE: Cover in large 5 quart casserole dish. Heat milk in microwave on full power for 5 minutes. Pour into rice and sugar. Pour into buttered baking dish and cover. Cook 10 minutes on full power. Stir. Cook 5 minutes on medium. Stir. Cook 45 minutes on defrost cycle.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
