FIG ICE CREAM 
10 canned green figs, drained
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 qt. vanilla ice cream
Candied figs (optional)

Puree the figs in an electric blender or food processor. Add the lemon juice. Soften the ice cream and quickly stir the fig mixture into it. Turn the mixture into a rectangular pan or freezer tray and freeze until slightly firmed. Stir it up from the bottom. Turn the ice cream into plastic containers, cover and freeze until firm. To serve, decorate with candied figs if desired. Makes about 1 quart.
