CHILI DIP 
6 lb. lean ground beef
2 tbsp. bacon fat
2 cans beef consomme
6 onions, chopped
6 oz. chili powder
2 tbsp. powdered comino seed
1 tbsp. oregano
2 tbsp. salt
4 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
1 c. flour

Saute ground beef in bacon fat. When browned, blend in flour. Heat 1 can consomme and add, stirring until mixture is smooth. Put in large pan with beef and add onions and other can consomme. Add seasonings and simmer 30 minutes, stirring often. Put half of mixture in double boiler to keep warm, and add 2 pounds cheese. Put other half of mixture and 2 pounds cheese in chafing dish. It will take about half an hour for cheese to melt. Stir with wooden spoon to blend. Serve with tortilla chips. Preparation: 30 minutes.
