BOILED ICING 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. vinegar
2 egg whites
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. flavoring (vanilla)

Place sugar, water and vinegar in pan. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Cook until syrup spins a thread. Meanwhile, beat egg whites until stiff. Add baking powder just before the syrup. Add syrup slowly, beating constantly. Add flavoring last. If icing hardens while icing the cake, add a few drops of hot water, and beat mixture again.
