HOMEMADE FUDGE 
2 c. sugar
1/3 c. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter
3-4 tbsp. peanut butter

Butter a large plate or platter. In a heavy medium saucepan combine sugar and cocoa. Stir in milk and vanilla. Cook over medium high heat, stirring often, until mixture comes to a full rolling boil. Continue to boil until mixture reaches hard ball stage (when dropped into cold water, mixture forms a ball that holds its shape when rolled between fingers). Remove from heat. Add butter, stirring until melted. Beat in peanut butter, then pour onto platter. Cool completely and cut into squares.
