SUPER OATMEAL COOKIES 
3/4 c. soft butter
1 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ginger
1 c. Quaker Oats, uncooked
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. golden raisins

Beat shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla together until creamy. Sift together flour, salt, soda, spices; add to creamed mixture; blend well. Stir in oats. Stir in nuts, raisins, chocolate chips (having coated them with a bit of the flour). Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 12 to 15 minutes. When done, cool on racks. Yield: 5 to 6 dozen.
