2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
2 c. flour
Dash of salt
3 egg yolks
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. vanilla or lemon flavoring

Cream sugar, butter and Crisco. Add egg yolks and beat well. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Roll into uniform small balls and bake on ungreased cookie sheet 20 minutes at 300 degrees.
