ORANGE NUT BREAD | |
2 c. all-purpose flour 3/4 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts 1 beaten egg 1 tbsp. grated orange peel 3/4 c. orange juice 1/4 tsp. grated lemon peel 2 tbsp. lemon juice 2 tbsp. melted shortening or cooking oil Stir all dry ingredients; stir in walnuts. Combine all other ingredients together in different bowl. Then add together. Stir until moistened. Turn batter into a greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees until done, 50 to 60 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool. Wrap with foil and store overnight before slicing. Makes 1 loaf. |
