LEMON FROSTED DATE BARS 
1 c. sugar
3 eggs, separated
1 c. nutmeats
1 lb. dates, cut up
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat egg yolks. Combine with sugar. Stir until creamy. Mix in baking powder and salt. Add nuts and dates. Beat egg whites and alternately add with flour. Put into 13x9x2 inch pan. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.

ICING:

Cream together 2 cups of confectioners' sugar, 1/4 cup soft butter and grated rind and juice of 1/2 lemon.
